Crop
Circles of May 2009
Clatford, nr Manton, Wiltshire.
Reported 4th May.
This Pictogram was discovered from the air in the early
morning of May 4 2009. It is not viewable from any
position in the local landscape. During the night of the
creation of the glyph there was moderate rainfall in the
local area.
The Glyph measures approximately 800 feet in length and
around 250 feet wide. The crop is around 5 feel high.
Further, the formation stretches over the crest of the
hill at the top of the field, making any direct full
length sight line out of the question.
All Cannings, Near Alton Barnes, Wiltshire.
Reported May 6 2009.
This circle was spotted from a nearby road in the early
morning of May 6. The formation measures 202 feet in
diameter. Much of the formation was shabby and trodden
by late morning on day one, making any full critical
examination nonviable. Some percentage of the laid
plants were noted to be bent and not broken at the base.
Peaks Down, nr Swindon, Wiltshire.
Reported 9th May.
We visited this formation in the
early afternoon of Sunday 10th May and it was apparent
it had had very few visitors before us. There was no
apparent damage to the plants apart from a few being
broken at ground level. Most of the stems were bent over
and there was no evidence of any scrapping. The crop was
lying uniformly on the ground and was fluffy leading us
to feel that we had to tiptoe carefully around plants.
The standing edges were very distinct.
All the circles were laid clockwise
around a central swirled nest or flat spiral area. The
centres were in fact not in the centres of the circles but
placed slightly 'off to one side'. The nest in the middle of
the central circle was nearly two feet off centre.

SENSE OF PEACE ON
WINDMILL
There are very few
occasions when you can experience a Crop Circle without any
wind around in England. The sense of peace and tranquillity
on Windmill Hill was tangible, as none of the wonderful
light Barley was flowing in waves as would be the case on a
normal windy day. Just complete stillness, with the added
impact of the ancient Windmill Hill settlement. These types
of events close to such powerful ancient places, are what
makes the County of Wiltshire so unique. There is no doubt
that the design itself was creating an atmosphere all of its
own.
